Lies, lies and LIES!!!
October 14th, 2004 — The Random Thinker
We watched the Presidential Debate last night and, among the more childish “Look at what Bush did!” observations I made (which as Henry Rollins has said “Making fun of president Bush is like punching an 8 year old in the face. Sure, it can be fun, but it’s not really rewarding”) I noticed, one striking, bold, blatant LIE.
KERRY: …Six months after he said Osama bin Laden must be caught dead or alive, this president was asked, “Where is Osama bin Laden?” He said, “I don’t know. I don’t really think about him very much. I’m not that concerned”
We need a president who stays deadly focused on the real war on terror.
SCHIEFFER: Mr. President?
BUSH: Gosh, I just don’t think I ever said I’m not worried about Osama bin Laden. It’s kind of one of those exaggerations.
Let’s see about this:
Who knows if he’s hiding in some cave or not; we haven’t heard from him in a long time…So I don’t know where he is. You know, I just don’t spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you…And I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don’t know where he is…I — I’ll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.

Now, I realize that this quote was taken partially out of context (by me) and that’s because I do not have the energy to drudge up issues like when he said “I’m more worried about making sure that our soldiers are well-supplied” and soldiers are coming back from the war reporting that soliders are increadibly under supplied in regards to body and vehicle armor.
Or how Bush said “Neighborhoods are safer when we crack down on people who commit crimes with guns” but let’s not make them SAFER by being proactive about prolonging the ban on assault weapons.
I think you all catch my drift.
R.I.P. Superman

Christopher Reeve died Sunday of heart failure at the age of 52.

… This just isn’t right. In the end, Superman is always supposed to win.
West Memphis Three update
October 8th, 2004 — The Random Thinker, WM3
Bloody hell! Apparently one of the cruicial witnesses that testified against the West Memphis Three has come forward, in the Arkansas Times, to say that her testimony was “a product of police pressure to get results”
Thanks for the effort, lady, but why didn’t you step forward 10 years ago when they were first sentenced to jail and death?
