Bush makes me giggle

Okay, well I found this ironic, emphasis mine. I’m assuming he means literacy as in the ability to read and write (as far as I know it’s not some crazy political reference I don’t know about…):

The Senate may be the place for some former first ladies, but President Bush on Thursday categorically ruled out a run for office by his wife, Laura Bush.

“She’s not interested in running for office. She’s interested in literacy,” Bush said during an appearance at JK Moving & Storage here.

This coming from the man, the President of the United States mind you, who said:

“…the illiteracy level of our children are appalling.”

    I heard a good joke this weekend, where Bush speech writers are just a couple of drunk prankster that just sit there and say, I bet you I can get him to say this… I am sure literacy was one one their bets.
