DVR Here we come!!!

Keli and I are soon to be ‘real people’ tomorrow. We’ve had DirecTV for some time now and in the past SEVERAL months have been discouraged because we’re paying for satellite tv and hardly have a chance to watch the stuff we want. This is largely due to the fact that I have to be at work long before the butt-crack of dawn and so the time Keli and I do have at nights we want to spend actually enjoying each other’s company, and not necessarily plugged into whatever crap happens to be on the tube.

There have been several television events in the past couple of months that I have really wanted to watch, but due to our crazy schedule, it just wasn’t possible. And that made me mad. Things like the opening game for the Oakland A’s (I know they suck, but I’ve always been an A’s fan), The National Geographic’s airing (First and encour) of “The Gospel of Judas”, American Idol’s episode where Andrea Boccelli performed “live” (I don’t like American Idol, but think Andrea is freaking awesome!), etc. So we talked and we ‘worked some things out’ and got a good deal on DirecTV’s DVR service. It will be hooked up tomorrow. OOOOOHHHHH yeah! It sounds petty, but we’re happier than flies on a dung heap about being able to watch shows from TV at our leisure.

I’d say ‘cheap thrills’ but it’s anything but cheap…

Yeah I’m eager to see The Boondocks… I’ve heard about it from friends and it sounds like I’d get a kick out of it. And the first thing I’m setting up for auto record is the Family Guy.
