Years later when I was exposed to it (I think I was in my late teens), I was horrified. I lost the ability to work screwdrivers and lightbulbs without repeating that inane, foreign litany. I hope never to expose my own child to it. My dad never taught me the “lefty loosey, righty tighty,” he just showed me how to do it.
