I Smell a Smelly Kind of Smell
About a week and a half ago, Keli and I noticed that the kid’s room started smelling strange. Since it’s winter and their windows were closed we thought maybe it was just a “stuffy” smell.
What we also noticed was that every day the smell seemed to get worse – so much so, that we were convinced either one of them hid something horribly nasty in a nook of their room or a little critter had died inside the walls. Today we had them pick up their toys and we proceeded to pull their things away from the walls, looked through their drawers and toy boxes but we couldn’t find anything.
Even more strange, was that once the kids picked up their toys from the floor, the smell was completely gone. Being the trusting father I am, I looked through our daughter’s trash can to see if she tried to slyly 86 the source of the smell (don’t worry, there’s a back story to my suspicion… for a later time) but found nothing.
As of this point, the cause of the smell is still a mystery and I, for one, am afraid of what haunts their room causing it to smell like death and also what caused it to completely go away.

Smelly smells are the smelliest smells you can possibly smell. Smelly smells that turn out to be phantom smells are less smellificent, but there always the possibility that a child ate whatever was smelly (at least among my brothers and I when we were kids) and it could be coming back with a vengeance… later.
This sounds like a zombie or a smelly ghost… isn’t this a Halloween story?
