Remembering Paul Gray

Earlier today, the body of bassist Paul Gray (a.k.a.: #2, “The Pig”) was found in his Iowa hotel room. Gray is best known as the bassist for the Grammy Award winning band Slipknot. A cause of death is not being announced until after authorities perform an autopsy.

Slipknot is a “love ‘em or hate ‘em” type of band and that’s how they want it. They want true fans, not pretenders or posers. They’re loud, brilliant, vulgar, unapologetic and put on a damn fine show. Their live album, “9.0:Live” is hands down one of the best live albums I have ever heard. Here’s a video of their performance of “Before I Forget” at last year’s Download music festival (profanity warning!):

Last week we lost Ronnie James Dio. This week we’ve already lost an amazing bassist. I’m afraid to find out who might be next.
