Recent Site Updates
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been making a bunch of big changes to my web site. I think most of these have been transparent to site visitors, with the exception of the updated RSS feed.
WordPress
I’ve updated my installation of WordPress to 3.0. I was quite pleased to find that the upgrade went perfectly smooth, with no negative side effects.
RSS Feed
The RSS feed for blog posts has changed. The new feed URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/deguia. Please update your RSS feed reader to start pulling from the new URL.
Hosting
Since I began running this blog in October of 2003, I have had it hosted with my former employer, Sonic.net. I recently moved my hosting from Sonic.net to my own hosting account with Hawk Host. Through the many years of hosting my web sites with Sonic.net, I can honestly say I did not have even a single hosting-related problem. That’s not just because I’m a former employee, either. Their web hosting is rock-solid and everything is hosted in an iron-clad, state-of-the-art, secure data center. If you’re in the market for web hosting for a single site, I highly recommend them!
I chose to move my web sites off of Sonic.net only because the number of web sites and side projects I have created and manage has risen and it was more economical to host with Hawk Host. As with Sonic.net, Hawk Host‘s support is top notch and their web hosting has been steller, thus far. I’ve been hosting a few sites for the past year with Hawk Host, on a buddy’s reseller account, and I have yet to experience a problem that was not caused by my own bonehead mistakes.
