Since I’m still trying to find a job, I’ve had a lot of free time as of late that I didn’t have before. Here’s what I’ve been filling that time with:
Video Games
With our tax return, I bought a PS3 before getting laid off, which I’m really glad I did. My brother-in-law let me borrow his copy Crysis 2, which I beat already. I’ve also beaten, since buying the PS3, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Medal of Honor. I tested out GameFly using a free trial and, while it was fun to have new games to play, their turnaround time sucked and they consistenly did not send me either of the two games at the top of my queue.
Books
I watched the first episode of “Game of Thrones” on one of HBO’s free teaser weekends and loved it. Afterwards, I found out that the show was based on a series of books, written by George R.R. Martin. I procured a copy of the first book and have been reading A Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire: Book One
Summer Vacation
The upside of this whole “slacker unemployment” thing, is that I’ll be able to actually spend time with the kids this summer. Until I find a new job that is. The wife and I are keeping our prepaid trip to Las Vegas and, since we have less income to set aside for the trip, I’ve been promoting the Luxor, trying to earn points, redeemable towards shows, swanky meals, and such. So, if you happen to see Luxor-related posts on Twitter from me, that’s why. It won’t be forever… don’t hate me!
So, what’s new with all of your bad selves?
