On August 28, 1963, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his famous “I Have A Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in our nation’s capital.

Nearly 46 years after that historic day, another historic event will take place in that same city, not far from those very steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Tomorrow morning the first Black man will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.

While things are not perfect and there is still an unacceptable amount of racism in this country, from both Whites and Blacks, you cannot listen to King’s words without feeling a sense of pride for how far we have come, as a whole.

Some have said that tomorrow, with Barack Obama’s inauguration, is a day for Blacks. I say to hell with that: Tomorrow is a day for us all! Regardless of where you stand politically, put those opinions and emotions on the shelf for this one day and revel in this amazing milestone!

For the entire schedule of the days inaugural events, and for live coverage of the swearing in ceremony, head over to CNN.
