On August 19, 2011, after 18 years behind bars, the prosecution offered the West Memphis Three a compromise wherein, after taking into account their time served, they were released from prison.

Right now two young men are serving life sentences without the possibility of parole and a third is waiting on Death Row. But why? For their alleged role in a brutal triple homicide.
Why do I say “alleged”? Because the evidence used against them was Pink Floyd lyrics, best-selling Stephen King novels, listening to Metallica, wearing black t-shirts and rumors of the occult. Their conviction, over a decade ago, was made in spite of a complete lack of physical evidence, motive or proof of any kind.
